Juba Airport Transfer Guide (2026) - All Options & Tips
A guide to navigating Juba Airport arrivals, with essential tips for verifying current transfer options and avoiding common transportation scams.
We have not yet verified how travellers currently reach Juba from the airport serving it, so we are not publishing routes, operators or fares we cannot stand behind. For what is running on the day you travel, the arrivals information published by your arrival airport is the reliable source, and your accommodation will usually know what works best for the hour you land.
Helpful Tips
Use the boda-boda motorcycle taxis for quick city hops, agree on fare before mounting.
Juba's main minibus hub is Custom Market. Routes radiate from here to most neighborhoods.
Most drivers accept South Sudanese pounds only, carry small notes for boda and minibus fares.
Airport taxis wait outside arrivals. Negotiate the fare in advance as meters are not used.
Common Scams to Avoid
Unofficial porters inside Juba International Airport's arrival hall grab bags without invitation, then demand inflated fees far above the local norm. Firmly decline any unsolicited help and keep your luggage in sight until you reach the official taxi queue.
Touts outside the terminal claim the official taxi rank is closed and steer arriving passengers to private cars that charge several timesimes the standard rate. Ignore them and walk the short distance to the clearly marked taxi stand.
Currency-exchange dealers near the exit offer rates that look attractive but quietly short-change or swap genuine notes for older, lower-denomination bills. Only change money inside the terminal's licensed bureau or use an ATM.
